Top 9 Things You Should Know before Boarding an Egypt Nile Cruise
By Hesham Elgammal on 07 Jan 2025
There’s nothing quite like the Nile Cruise Luxor Aswan in Egypt. It offers luxury, adventure, and spectacular views, all in one package. But before you set off for your cruise down the Nile, there are some things you should know that will elevate your experience and help ensure your trip flows smoothly.
1. Dare to Compare.
Not all cruises are created equally. There are a number of Egypt Nile Cruises you can take, but not all will be the same. By comparing plans, you will know exactly what you are promised and can check the price differences as well. While one cruise may offer an all-inclusive price, others may not. Especially if you are expecting the trip to include all things, like eating, drinks, and so forth, you can be caught off guard. The Nile Cruise Luxor, Aswan, and other reputable cruises lay out everything you need or want to know so you can examine what you will get…and what you won’t get. Never assume anything when your vacation is at stake.
2. What’s in YOUR Cabin?
You may assume you know what will be in your cabin. You may have even looked at the photos on the site of your cruise ship. But, what you may not know is that not all the cabins are alike in some situations. It’s a good idea to find out all the details about the individual cabin you will have, like what size the bed will be, if there are windows, and if the room next door connects.
3. A Tip on Tips.
One very important thing you need to know before boarding your cruise ship is whether gratuity and tips are included in your price. Some cruise packages include them, but many don’t. You may be getting a cheaper price on a package that does not include tips, which doesn’t make it a bad thing; it’s just something you should be aware of so you can be prepared to cover your own. Those who serve you will appreciate your forethought.
4. Pack a Day Bag.
Typically, once you board a cruise ship, you’ll need to wait for your luggage to be delivered to your room. During this time, you may want to access something. Be sure to pack some belongings in a small day bag for this duration and to be on the safe side in case your bag was to be delayed or, heaven forbid, gets lost.
5. Dress Code.
Pay close attention to your brochure and other cruise information. You will want to bring everything you need to meet the dress code or you could be left out when dinnertime comes around. Some cruises even have theme dress events. Know before you go.
6. Take the High Road.
If you are afraid you’ll get queasy, or are sure that you will, you might consider springing for a cabin that is higher up. The higher the cabin, the less motion you’ll encounter. Taking the high road might cost more but not taking it could possibly cost you your trip in the long run.
7. Be Prepared for Internet Interruption.
You very well may not have internet service on your trip. This can be a blessing in disguise so you can focus on having fun and give more attention to those you are with. But, it can pose problems too. Find out if you’ll have internet and phone service, partial service, or how the setup will be.
8. Sick Daze.
Be sure to inquire what type of accommodations your cruise ship has in the event you, or a loved one, gets sick. Is there a clinic or doctor that will be going on the trip? If so, ask if you need to pay upfront or can you use your insurance in the event you do have to use the service. Find out the procedure that will be taken in case of a major medical problem. Things do happen so knowing what precautions are being taken is wise.
Is a memory waiting to happen. Be sure to make the most of the precious time by being prepared to savor every moment of your time aboard.
10. Ideal Travel Seasons: March–May & September–November
For comfortable temperatures and fewer crowds, consider cruising during Egypt’s shoulder seasons. These periods offer pleasant weather, making sightseeing more enjoyable.
